1. What is Arts Olympus?

The Arts Olympus is the first world cultural center created on a ship. It will tour the globe on a ship that will include a continuous convergence of media via live performance, television, radio and Internet. The world’s hopes, dreams and aspirations for global goodwill will be captured, documented and celebrated in an ongoing multi-media arts event that will emanate from the most unique ocean-going vessel in history.

2. What countries are involved?

We want every country to participate in this global humanitarian effort. The Arts Olympus has created an international network of talent in the arts that spans the entire globe. We have empowered creative genius by honoring them as brilliant representatives of their country and culture.

3. When will the world cultural center and art museum be ready to sail?

We anticipate in the year 2011.

4. How is the Arts Olympus any different than any other festival?

The Arts Olympus will have a physical presence in cities throughout the world as it tours the globe. This will include television, radio and Internet which will be an integral part of the Arts Olympus, bringing the celebration of cultures right into the homes of millions.

5. What talent is scheduled to appear?

The Arts Olympus will be an invitation for all countries to send their most powerful artists and performers who will capture the essence and greatness of their culture and people. Both the country’s selection committee and ours will pare the entries down until we have only the most spectacular performers and artists in the world.

6. Where is the funding coming from?

Private investments, corporate sponsors, country participation, grants, merchandising and royalties.

7. What part of the event will be on the Internet?

The site will be an outstanding entertainment platform. Video and audio performances streaming from locations gobally will be a big part of our broadcasts. The opportunity for individuals and groups to submit and express their creativity and thoughts through all art forms captured digitally will also be included. This, in essence, will enable the Arts Olympus to be “co-produced” with public participation.

8. What will the Arts Olympus do with the moneys raised through contributions and other funding sources?

There will be extensive gallery exhibits, live performances and many opportunities for people to communicate with creative genius assembled from all parts of the globe. There will be programs for children in the arts, lectures and demonstrations of different cultures, ALL FREE TO THE PUBLIC. The Arts Olympus will give birth to a renaissance of activity in every city that it visits and will create an abundance of programming for television, radio and Internet.

9. How did the idea of the Arts Olympus originate?

Robert Slaughter, the founder and his team wanted to construct a venue that would bring into being a better understanding of the people of the world and help create a global harmony through the arts. At the same time, they wanted to unite people through live performances and use the latest cutting edge technology to reach out to entire populations via television, radio and Internet.

10. When will the event start?

We started years ago by creating all kinds of arts programs via arts salons, exhibits, dance, concerts and countless public performances too numerous to mention. However, we hope to launch our ship in the year 2011.

11. Can I go on the cruise?

Yes. Priority will be given to those who are involved in the arts. Tickets will be made available to the general public on a first come first serve basis. We are currently forming a list of those interested in participating in this historical inaugural cruise.

12. What is “Hands Around the World”?

This is a special division of the Arts Olympus that will center its attention on the creative development of children, who will communicate with other children in other countries through the arts.

13. What is the “International Salon Society of the Arts”?

The International Salon Society of the Arts (ISSA ) is the association that gave birth to the Arts Olympus and has, for many years, fostered the appreciation and support of all areas of the arts through their Salons and creative arts activities worldwide.
